Perhaps I'm getting to far ahead of my story. My name is Solis Rex. Age? 20. Jobless. I dropped out of college for a success story, but what I got was failure, jeers and a severe blow to my self-esteem. But my life changed that day I found the Flash Drive.
That day I had just finished my latest part-time job as a garbage man. As I no longer had any dreams, that job suited me. Why reach for the stars? I walked down the street, dressed in my trench coat just for the sake of fun. People moved away from me, I merely nodded at them. The feeling of despair just shows out.
"Thief!" A sudden voice rang out. I saw a man run in front of me. Instinctively, I lunged for him, tackling him to the ground. The briefcase that the man was holding tumbled to the ground. I held that man in place as an older man wearing a suit came closer to me.
"There, there, boy. Let him go." the man said. I released the thief, who fled as fast as lightning. I started after the thief, but the man stopped me.
"Boy, let him be. He doesn't know what's in this briefcase anyway. Come, boy, to my lab. You deserve a cup of coffee."
Before I knew any better, I was pulled to this man's lab. Over coffee, he opened the briefcase, showing the Flash Drive nestled inside. The man, who introduced himself as Professor Abel, took the Flash Drive out and placed it on the table.
The Flash Drive was colored gunmetal gray, rectangular and plain. The USB end was silver like any other flash drive.
"This Flash Drive is the Key, boy."
"Key?" I was slightly taken aback by the sudden exclamation of this man. A key? To what? A Lock?
